Casio Exilim EX-F1 6MP 12x Zoom 2.8-Inch LCD Pro Digital Camera

Casio Exilim EX-F1 6MP 12x Zoom 2.8-Inch LCD Pro Digital Camera

with CMOS Shift Image Stabilization

It comes with a 150 page physical. In legible (generally) English. The zillion options. One very polite present, you can code it to reminisce most settings. If you want the exhibit to adjourn off (which I want usually) you can set it to do that, even if you break it off and on. It seems to have good sensitivity, the look stabilizer facility utterly well.

As a still camera, about median. As a film camera, a lot for the money. It shoots standard capture, HD (1080p, 60 Hz) and speedily video, up to 1200 fps. Low resolution above 300 fps, good for clothes that go bump, not for notion presentations. The 30-300 fps adjustable location is not so convenient, you have to set the build regard each time you score. It should be programmable. The 300 fps rigid backdrop has a resolution of about 512x390, good enough for most sports work.

A remark on pixels. The Ex-F1 has a 6 Mp feeler. You can get a lot more than that for excluding money, but it's more marketing than actual. You have to look at the feeler (CCD/CMOS) volume. Real world lenses are limited to about 100 line pairs per mm in what they can resolve. Based on the specs for the Ex, it tries to get 200 lp/mm. So, not truthful. My little Olympus P&S is over 400 lp/mm. You just can't get there. Fewer pixels for a given flake bulk mostly means better light sensitivy. That helps more than anything also.

For my use, mostly in sports, a very good compromise. The CS prerecord sort is very good. You can get 60 detailed resolution frames before you squash the secure. It stores them in domestic recall and saves after you lobby the close. So you can see what happened just before (up to 60 fps, programmable) With a 16Gbyte SD card, about $25, you can save over 4500 rounded resolution movies.

I am a photographer-aspirant drawn and web designer.

I have taken this artifact to photoquests where I've subjected it to different types of landscapes, light and climate situations -- even some yielding torrent.

So far it has behaved beautifully with good series life, momentary enough footage speeds and good aura quality even on its lowest settings.

The lens worked good, but have had harassed demanding to get long reserve films (not enough optical zoom) but it was to be projected, and can simply be fixed by attaching adequate lenses for said principle.

Only edition may be with the LCD test, as it tends to get scratching on its emerge ratter simply, so I'd imply you get some soul of shelter for it (I port't been able to find it where I live - Colombia, Southamerica). Guess I'll have to buy it through Amazon too.

Can't genuinely give much more advise as I am just a n00b at this pack, but I can tell you this camera has opened a new door in my precede and career I think won't be closed for the foreseeable eminent.

Excellent product if your just erudition, I'll let you know if it keeps up.

Olympus Evolt E520 10MP Digital SLR

Olympus Evolt E520 10MP Digital SLR Camera
with Image Stabilization
w/ 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 Zuiko Lens

Though I have E510. I actually tried to hardened the E520 as well and chosen E510 for the 2 kit lens contract and the beyond skin E520 has over E510 which I rarely worry about. I thought to add my E510 analysis under this to give the readers a better idea about how the Olympus E510/E520 wins over the Canons XSi and Nikon D80 we veteran. Hope the helps.

Myself and a Canon lover Friend and a Nikon lover Cousin were hunting for DSLRs. We had Film SLRs and few Point ; Shoot Digis. We don't want to consume $1500+ for the DSLR and was waiting at the penalty to come down. When it reached $1000 celebrate, we happening hunting for it and tried few DSLR models in stores by haulage our own glint memories and took few trial shots at the same lighting, crucial extent, ISO, f-Stop and Shutter and pointed down to most people(s) three choices - Olympus E510, Canon XSi and Nikon D80. I went with E-510 right on the position after looking at the metaphors on the digital PC watch in just 4 weekend hunting. The other two contemplated a while and my colleague went with Canon XSi and my cousin chose D80 as he hunted to use his old Nikon lenses and gears.

On a minute dusk we got our stuffs planned online. As rapidly we returned from work, we were excited to experiment our choices.

Right out of the box outcome: (No change)

E-510 - Great Outdoor fallout with very good artless shade processing well exposed. Indoor shots were good artless flush tones with a bit dull and underexposed.

XSi - Great Outdoor and Indoor fallout with very little pink dyed incline processing with a good exposure.

D80 - Great Outdoor outcome with little downcast decorated shade processing. Indoor fallout with very little cobalt tinted flush processing with a good exposure.

You can see the pink and cerulean tone palpable on the skin tone and on the pallid heart subjects. We actually compared the imagery captured by these three with what we saw with bare eyes. We all pragmatic this very little tone changes when tried at stores and granted on the myth that "Every variety has it's own way and nothing is wonderful." Nevertheless still it's too early to choose which one is best.

We tried it every sunset as rapidly we come back and with little tuning as optional by the reviewers and professionals. In just 3 time - I made everybody to think that - I WON. Still those guys sought to give a try because sometimes the fallout from Canon XSi and Nikon D80 will have the same incline as E510 in long shots and when occasionally (say like one in 100 shots) E510 underexposes the skin tones will look greyish. We almost go as a group for all the functions/festivals and pervade with flashes everywhere :)

After 3 months of coutinuous use at the same places, here is our findings:

Speed: XSi is better than E510 and D80. But thats for just 6-7 everyday shots. After that, the XSi will pop up with "BUSY" icon. It is renowned and you can see the complaints in Amazon reviews. The other to will be steady through out the, the gathering. No BUSY nothing.

Color Tone: E510 is more sincere across the lighting conditions. Indoor shots want to have exposure compensation set to both +0.3 or +0.7

Indoor Photos: E510 is a bit dull and underexposed right out of the box but after a little tweaking it just blows the other two out of the glass with very real color tones and quick imagery. It actually chooses the right ISO essential where, as the Canon XSi forever chooses ISO 400 when with burst I don't know why it is set like that.

Dynamic Range: Though the pro reviewers say, D80 is more dynamic we sanctuary't came across a state to attest it. Under most frequent outside shooting, we all three got almost matching resluts and we liked the E510 processing much better than the other two.

ISO: upto ISO 400, E510 blare released. It get's, an affront clatter nearly in at ISO 800 and at ISO 1600 clamor is apparent. Canon XSi blare gratis cultivate ISO 1600. Nikon D80 is sound unbound cultivate ISO 800 and at ISO 1600 it introduces a little noise. It is worth to be renowned that we asylum't seen a situation that we poverty to use more than ISO 400 under routine covered/outside usual abuser wants. We actually strained the camera to use ISO 800 and ISO 1600 just to see the results where the camera picked ISO 400 by it's own when you abscond it to the camera choise in ISO. This is actually the shadows night shot on the tributary group pointing the camera at the lighted buildings on the other periphery of the stream and the situation truly shadows.

Auto Focus: E-510 mane on for quick focus almost 99% of the time but hunts for focus at low light with too much glint strobes for 4-5 seconds drving you nuts. XSi is zippy but occasionally the focus is not correctly locked. When you aspect on the camera strut it looks fine but when setback up in the observe, it's unfocused. Nikon D80 had the most mis focus. You can see these misfocus issues at both Amazon reviews and DPreview.

Image Stabilization: E510 wins hands down. I took tack sour movies using 70-300 lens zoomed all the way at 300mm with secure available down cultivate 1/30. XSi's lens based stabilization is not that actual when we worn it with 50-200mm lens zoomed to 200mm. It was valuable till 1/40. Nikon we haven't tried it as we don't have BEEN lens. Not to reference the immense assess my alone rewarded for the Canon 50-200 IS lens while I paid just $240 for the 70-300 lens as I had an efficient IS built into my E510 body.

Fit and Feel: E510 wins again with more robust create attribute. Nikon D80 is also built good but a bit superior. XSi looks kind of plasticky and has an uncohttp://dslrsreviews.blogspot.com/2010/05/nikon-d80-102mp-digital-slr-camera-kit.htmlmfortable grip. E510 just lays in your hand so comfortable and is a joy to use.
Value for Money:

I paid $560 for the 2 kit lens. Selling my 40-150mm for $110 and bought the 70-300 for $240 making my kit to detriment me $690. FL-36 jiffy costed me $150, totalled to $840.

XSi costed my ally $869 with 18-55mm (Now it is around $500-$600), 70-300mm IS lens for $510. With no blaze his kit is now $1379.

Nikon D80 costed my cousin $910 with 18-135mm with no IS !!! He can't just use his camera hand seized as I am using it with my long zoom 300mm or as my associate using his XSi with his 200mm or in low light.

Now...You decide which one gives you more money for dough...XSi with 70-300mm sedan focus is faster than the E510 with 70-300 mm at the very long end of the zoom. XSi with 300mm zoomed couldn't get tangy results all the time, less than 250mm is ideal for hand seized. E510 has efficient IS and plant all the way till 300mm handheld but had focus seek when worn in a minor shadow zone.

We also asked the remnants of the people at home and our contacts to see the movies and select which one looks better lacking potent them which one came from what camera. The end outcome is 80% of the images picked by the, them who don't even know which camera bent it, picked E510's cinema.

We all three agreed that E510 is the best all around DSLR in it's category and we just pay the hyped rate for the Canon and Nikon just for the stamp which produces vision attribute that equate to poorer than the low priced, light authority E510. Look no spread, go for this little gem and you will be more pleased than the Canon and Nikon users.

Olympus E30 12.3MP Digital SLR

Olympus E30 12.3MP Digital SLR
with Image Stabilization
with 12-60mm f/2.8-4.0 Digital ED SWD Lens

After owning Olympus E-510 for 8 months I had been looking redirect to an upgrade to the E-3. When Olympus announced the new E-30 in November the upgrade waters became a little muddied. I poured over the differences between the E-3 and the E-30 and then waited at some of the initial Olympus reviews to come out. I foster waited to examine from the more well-known internet Olympus users and bloggers to see what they had to say. After all, they were used to shooting Olympus and had done so with most of the models presently out. Once I knew that the E-30 performed similarly to the E-3 I knew now that I had to select one over the other. Nevertheless which one?

Basically, any camera leverage will be based on a personal panache and fondness and not everybody chooses the same technique or the same camera within an approach. Got to dearest diversity!

What I understood Olympus that I already liked were the Zuiko lenses, the in body persona stabilization, the lesser, lighter (but not stingy sensation) bodies, the look feature, the live panorama, the intuitive project of the menu approach, their dust cutback capabilities, and their built-from-the-ground-up digital organism.

I chose the E-30 over the E-3 because of two core reasons:

One was the reality that the E-30 enclosed much of the innovation and performance of the E-3, but with newer technology. In the digital world, I thought that was a bonus.

The second was the actual power difference. While I think the climate sealed body of the E-3 is great for somebody who actually wills neediness it, I couldn't see myself shooting in the drop. Since I have a bit of arthritis in my hands and wrists already, the lighter body of the E-30 was a better fit for me.

My judgment on the general performance of the E-30 is that it performs just as I had hoped it would. It's steady and responsive.

The 11 direct sedan focus points were a kind flinch from the 3 points with my E-510 and after figuring out how to change from one to the other, it became appealing calm to conduct.
The superior 2.7 in broadcast was finicky, not to reveal the statement that it can incline and twirl. I person of missed the lean and spin selection from when I owned a Canon S5 IS.

I noticed a difference in the dynamic array too. I wasn't blowing out highlights as certainly as I did with the E-510. Less "blikies" are forever a good thing!

The image eminence doesn't disappoint and the 12.3mp allows for better prints.
I asylum’s used the art filters yet, but I'm clearly it'll be just one more thing that I can play around with. It definitely doesn't distract or degrade the high class you get with this camera!

If you want to upgrade from the E-4XX or E-5XX models this camera will not disappoint. If you are looking at this as a new DSLR purchase it will be a great camera for you as well.

Sony Alpha A230L 10.2 MP Digital SLR

Sony Alpha A230L 10.2 MP
Digital SLR Camera with Super SteadyShot INSIDE
Image Stabilization and 18-55mm Lens

I'm a beginner DSLR addict. I won't go into a list of specifications this camera has, those can be found certainly on the sales information record for this camera on this website or from Sony. I will highlight the skin I use and like or hate.

This camera has been right what I required for knowledge photography. I did not want a lot of bells and whistle. Out of camera picture value is very important to me. I am not game to fritter time at the laptop marker processing when I would slightly be remote shooting movies.

The Sony a230 does not have live notion or film, but I did not want live scene or film capability. I have both on my superior zoom and never use it. Optical viewfinder important due to the detail that I am far sighted and find live spectacle screens not usable in 98% of my movies since I like shooting outdoor/type/landscapes the adulthood of the time.

PROS:

*Out of camera insignia/picture property is great. I devotion the colors and textures the camera produces. Again, this is a delicate preference. Exposure compensation could certainly be untouched +/-2 as well as tint saturation in the menu. I have enjoyed the black and fair out of camera fallout also.

*The GUI menu approach is relaxed to use, acquit/cool with simple to find vanguard menu settings. Because of the great GUI, I have to say that my erudition curve has been much superior over my difficult super zoom, in actuality, I rarely use the Green Zone (vehicle/specific modes) on this camera. I am with Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority and clearly experimenting with physical pasty surplus etc. VERY FUN and REWARDING. If you so want, different flush machinate options allocate you to change the present to both Black, Brown, White or Pink. (I shelter't experimented to see what is the best viewing for slim use yet, parting supply set to White evade)

*18-55mm kit lens brilliant IQ and good general viable scale to have for most photos. I dear having this eclectic approach capability that I didn't have in my higher zoom camera.

*ERGONOMICS ; BUILD: At first glance I thought it looked a little plasticly, but once I seized and examined it, misused my object. It feels resolute and well made (which was proven just when it accidentally was toppled from my dining catalog against the stun. I like to ramble, and did not want a colossal severe camera to lug around. I know this is a personal thing, but I truly like the remainder and feel of this camera in my hands, even with the additional better 70-300mm lens I purchased later for this camera, it still feels good to me.
The menu buttons on back may be too simplified/stripped down for experienced users, but I like the way they are agreed, ISO scenery is calm to reach. For culture, having excluding buttons accidentally to hit and reason frustration has been good.

*VALUE reasonably priced for those on the resources. Kit lens 18-55mm included

*OPTICAL VIEWFINDER. I adore this VF. Nice fair terse, with sophisticated vehicle focusing when it senses my eye.(this can also be bowed off if for battery rule savings, since it will launch focusing the lens if gets anything close to the consider finder, when carrying)

Camera settings are displayed through the viewfinder, helm on front of camera below the on/off force fasten allows you to change settings based on what menu sort you are on. Field of belief seems to be very good in my limited experience. 9 annoy focus points.
*Auto-Bracketing attribute. Will take up to 3 different shots with exposures shifted either 0.3 or 0.7 steps.

I can't talk knowledgeably about dynamic variety since I retreat played with those settings yet.

*Lens options. Knowing I can use Minolta A-mount lenses is the plus

CONS:

*at sometime, possibly I will want there are more vanguard skin existing on this ideal, like an AEL change. A "gravity of grassland" more experienced users mentioned knob, but being far sighted, I have to pile the movies up on my notebook to see the sincere property of the final picture, so I typically take numerous pictures of the same thing, tweaking the settings and the angle as cover. So deepness of ground badge possibly wouldn't help me.

*Bigger monitor on back, it has a 2.7." Larger would be fussy for viewing

*Not the best frames per back on the soak at 2.5, but have to say this is not an arise for me so far. I have been able to get some descent bird in trip pictures. I don't naturally dash fair dealings, except for baseball.

*Like any camera, low light situations are a challenge. In low light, the vehicle focus has a hard time. Some patience and experience/or in my case, tribunal and blunder is desired. I find if I switch to handbook focus and guide fair residue settings the helps. Having the right lens perhaps also helps. I have 2 lenses at this thrust, neither are genuinely destined for low light/night use. I newly successfully worn the on-enter bulletin using rear sync or plug, manual sallow total settings set to daylight, ISO set to 800, to take a careful likeness of my wife at night by a campfire. This was the BEST outdoor nightfall study shot I have ever taken to time! I was evidently in the precise range for the on-slat explode, and accidentally through experimentation got everything right! After pleasing this shot, I would say that ISO 800 or below is where the best view value will be for this camera. An accessory flashed will be in my hope, so the ISO capabilities will possibly develop if I do that.

*Proprietary array. Expensive and only found at stores that transmit the a230/a330/a380.Won't be able to find the sequence at the district hardware amass or even electronics deposit if they don't pass this line of cameras or camcorders that use this series.

There are no unspoiled cameras, but the Sony a230 has exceeded my expectations thus far.
