Sony Alpha A380L 14.2 MP Digital SLR Camera

Sony Alpha A380L 14.2 MP Digital SLR Camera

with Super SteadyShot INSIDE Image Stabilization and 18-55mm Lens

I am a photographer-aspirant drawn and web designer.

I have taken this artifact to photoquests where I've subjected it to different types of landscapes, light and climate situations -- even some yielding torrent.

So far it has behaved beautifully with good series life, momentary enough footage speeds and good aura quality even on its lowest settings.

The lens worked good, but have had harassed demanding to get long reserve films (not enough optical zoom) but it was to be projected, and can simply be fixed by attaching adequate lenses for said principle.

Only edition may be with the LCD test, as it tends to get scratching on its emerge ratter simply, so I'd imply you get some soul of shelter for it (I port't been able to find it where I live - Colombia, Southamerica). Guess I'll have to buy it through Amazon too.

Can't genuinely give much more advise as I am just a n00b at this pack, but I can tell you this camera has opened a new door in my precede and career I think won't be closed for the foreseeable eminent.

Excellent product if your just erudition, I'll let you know if it keeps up.

Sony Alpha A200K 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera Kit

Sony Alpha A200K 10.2MP

Digital SLR Camera Kit

with Super SteadyShot Image Stabilization

with 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens

When I set out to buy a digital SLR I was first looking at the Nikon D40 ($499) and the Canon Rebel XTi ($599). I was crooked off by the D40 due to it's 6MP feeler and require of JPEG (fine) + Raw capabilities. I ended surface on the Canon Rebel XTI because of the complaints about the low-condition kit lens which would've added overheads afar it's original assess tag.

Looking in diverse photography forums I discovered the Sony Alpha being recommended to other people looking in the same assess vary I was. It had a 10.1MP sensor, a good lens and was in the same value extent as the Rebel XTi. I'm really exultant with the purchase. Picture attribute is excellent with the kit lens (SAL-1870). I also purchased the SAL-55200 telephoto lens and it is also a very fussy lens for the money.
The array life on the camera is excellent. The sedan-focus is super abstain and delving into the manual a bit will reveal many mighty configuration options (I don't think a lot of the Nikon and Canon fans who are crucial of this camera ever did that because I've seen claims made on forums that just aren't actual).

Some of the myths I've heard:

*No Shutter Lock (not stanch, just set the camera to "Manual" style)

*Limited and dear lens variety (Sony has a pretty moderate selection on it's own but this camera can also use many Konica-Minolta lenses dating all the way back to 1985).

*Can't use rank flashes (while the Alpha does have a proprietary hot shoe which is lame, there are good adapters out there.

Lack of live preview a snag (this comes up a lot and apparently these people have never shot film before. Most professionals I know do not necessary or use live preview)

There are many Pros but some that place out in particular for this panache are:

*Great bundled software (commonly bundled software just sits in the box but the programs that Sony's included are actually totally good)

*3200 ISO (this is awfully singular in a camera in this value range)

*In camera copy stablization

*Dynamic Range Optimization

All in all this camera is actually more in the taste of the Nikon D80 as far as image quality goes but at virtually half the estimate.

Sony Alpha A230L 10.2 MP Digital SLR

Sony Alpha A230L 10.2 MP
Digital SLR Camera with Super SteadyShot INSIDE
Image Stabilization and 18-55mm Lens

I'm a beginner DSLR addict. I won't go into a list of specifications this camera has, those can be found certainly on the sales information record for this camera on this website or from Sony. I will highlight the skin I use and like or hate.

This camera has been right what I required for knowledge photography. I did not want a lot of bells and whistle. Out of camera picture value is very important to me. I am not game to fritter time at the laptop marker processing when I would slightly be remote shooting movies.

The Sony a230 does not have live notion or film, but I did not want live scene or film capability. I have both on my superior zoom and never use it. Optical viewfinder important due to the detail that I am far sighted and find live spectacle screens not usable in 98% of my movies since I like shooting outdoor/type/landscapes the adulthood of the time.

PROS:

*Out of camera insignia/picture property is great. I devotion the colors and textures the camera produces. Again, this is a delicate preference. Exposure compensation could certainly be untouched +/-2 as well as tint saturation in the menu. I have enjoyed the black and fair out of camera fallout also.

*The GUI menu approach is relaxed to use, acquit/cool with simple to find vanguard menu settings. Because of the great GUI, I have to say that my erudition curve has been much superior over my difficult super zoom, in actuality, I rarely use the Green Zone (vehicle/specific modes) on this camera. I am with Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority and clearly experimenting with physical pasty surplus etc. VERY FUN and REWARDING. If you so want, different flush machinate options allocate you to change the present to both Black, Brown, White or Pink. (I shelter't experimented to see what is the best viewing for slim use yet, parting supply set to White evade)

*18-55mm kit lens brilliant IQ and good general viable scale to have for most photos. I dear having this eclectic approach capability that I didn't have in my higher zoom camera.

*ERGONOMICS ; BUILD: At first glance I thought it looked a little plasticly, but once I seized and examined it, misused my object. It feels resolute and well made (which was proven just when it accidentally was toppled from my dining catalog against the stun. I like to ramble, and did not want a colossal severe camera to lug around. I know this is a personal thing, but I truly like the remainder and feel of this camera in my hands, even with the additional better 70-300mm lens I purchased later for this camera, it still feels good to me.
The menu buttons on back may be too simplified/stripped down for experienced users, but I like the way they are agreed, ISO scenery is calm to reach. For culture, having excluding buttons accidentally to hit and reason frustration has been good.

*VALUE reasonably priced for those on the resources. Kit lens 18-55mm included

*OPTICAL VIEWFINDER. I adore this VF. Nice fair terse, with sophisticated vehicle focusing when it senses my eye.(this can also be bowed off if for battery rule savings, since it will launch focusing the lens if gets anything close to the consider finder, when carrying)

Camera settings are displayed through the viewfinder, helm on front of camera below the on/off force fasten allows you to change settings based on what menu sort you are on. Field of belief seems to be very good in my limited experience. 9 annoy focus points.
*Auto-Bracketing attribute. Will take up to 3 different shots with exposures shifted either 0.3 or 0.7 steps.

I can't talk knowledgeably about dynamic variety since I retreat played with those settings yet.

*Lens options. Knowing I can use Minolta A-mount lenses is the plus

CONS:

*at sometime, possibly I will want there are more vanguard skin existing on this ideal, like an AEL change. A "gravity of grassland" more experienced users mentioned knob, but being far sighted, I have to pile the movies up on my notebook to see the sincere property of the final picture, so I typically take numerous pictures of the same thing, tweaking the settings and the angle as cover. So deepness of ground badge possibly wouldn't help me.

*Bigger monitor on back, it has a 2.7." Larger would be fussy for viewing

*Not the best frames per back on the soak at 2.5, but have to say this is not an arise for me so far. I have been able to get some descent bird in trip pictures. I don't naturally dash fair dealings, except for baseball.

*Like any camera, low light situations are a challenge. In low light, the vehicle focus has a hard time. Some patience and experience/or in my case, tribunal and blunder is desired. I find if I switch to handbook focus and guide fair residue settings the helps. Having the right lens perhaps also helps. I have 2 lenses at this thrust, neither are genuinely destined for low light/night use. I newly successfully worn the on-enter bulletin using rear sync or plug, manual sallow total settings set to daylight, ISO set to 800, to take a careful likeness of my wife at night by a campfire. This was the BEST outdoor nightfall study shot I have ever taken to time! I was evidently in the precise range for the on-slat explode, and accidentally through experimentation got everything right! After pleasing this shot, I would say that ISO 800 or below is where the best view value will be for this camera. An accessory flashed will be in my hope, so the ISO capabilities will possibly develop if I do that.

*Proprietary array. Expensive and only found at stores that transmit the a230/a330/a380.Won't be able to find the sequence at the district hardware amass or even electronics deposit if they don't pass this line of cameras or camcorders that use this series.

There are no unspoiled cameras, but the Sony a230 has exceeded my expectations thus far.

Sony Alpha A330L 10.2 MP Digital SLR

Sony Alpha A330L 10.2 MP Digital SLR Camera
with Super SteadyShot INSIDE Image Stabilization
and 18-55mm Lens

Ok, I have just tired living painstakingly comparing entrance-alongside DSLRs (Canon XS, XSi; Nikon d3000, d5000; Pentax k-x) and have even made my own surpass stretch sheet grading each of the nominal pros and cons. Obviously, I finally chose the a330, so I will write this magazine from the perspective of the motive why i chose this camera and why I've immensely enjoyed it.

Picture Quality
- Since you are looking for a door turn DSLR, the picture worth for all item levels is comparable (I thought). Since I am a guide type shooter, the property of my shots are truly based on settings (orifice, close hurry, ISO, light, etc) so you'll be able to get good value out of all of them.

-I would time the a330 as a bit more exceptional, because in the handbook approach, Sony has something called "Creative Style" where you can extend correct your shot (bright color, night shot, night etc....And for each one of those modes, you can broaden modify saturation, sharpness and diverge). See some of my cinema in my profile!

Lenses
-This was one of the first reasons why the Sony alpha string made my sharp listing - any Sony or Minolta lens will work with this camera. In addition, because the persona stabilization is built into the camera and not the lens, the detriment is more reasonable compared to other lenses. Therefore, any lens I find on eBay I can use (don't have to care if a particular Sony lens or elder Minolta lens will work, so my options are endless).

Speed
- Although the continually shooting isn't the fastest in its taste, it's definitely usable. When I first was looking at FPS, I thought this was something that was high on my item directory, but turns out (unless you are a generous-incident photographer) when you shot something relativity still, you end with tons of films, where you'll end just deleting most of them. So the 2.5-3 fps is still closer then i will neediness.

- As prominent by other reviewers, the AF is baking speedy (with 9 AF points), and the switching between Live View and the optical belief finder is very fast as well!

Battery
- The string authority is beautiful pure, especially since I don't shot with the glint. Nevertheless here's my work-around: I just use a vertical series grip, that add three batteries utter to use seamlessly ([...]). This gripped makes your camera look like the big 2k-5k cameras, and give you 3Xs the string right.

 A230 vs A330
- As those who have researched this well, the a230 is the same camera as the a330, but it doesn't have the live examine and oriented LCD. I thought, I'm definitely getting the a230, because the viewfinder is better, and the price is way cheaper. Nevertheless I found that I worship shooting with the Live watch, because in manual manner, the live consider gives me an estimate of how opening, focus, close speed and iso would achieve my shot vs with the viewfinder in the a230, where it doesn't show me any of that(in the viewfinder-only basis, I'm wedged waiting unto the preview shows, so I would have to confirm every shot and then adjust, etc). So the Live scrutiny saves me time and seat on my SC license and I get pictures right the first or second time, versus the 4th or 5th time!

I could write all about my experience with the Nikon d3000 and d5000, and  Canon XS and XSi but I'll just say after trying all of them, I like the Sony better

p.s. I complete Nikon and Canon are more prevalent in the bazaar of DSLRs, which is why I wanted to give Sony an honestly unplanned - FYI I have a Canon HD cartridge camera, which I honey WAY better than any of the Sony models, so for videotape, I would definitely go with a Canon.
